Gravel Fondo Cymru is held in Myherin Forest, with a total distance of 100km for all senior categories, and 50km for junior and a non-competitive option.
Each loop is 50km, with 1300m of climbing per lap. For riders who are eligible, it will be the first ever official Beicio Cymru (Welsh Cycling) Gravel Championship, and run under British Cycling guidelines as a competitive event.
The route is 90% off-road, with one short section on a paved surface that should be closed to traffic for the event. Using our knowledge of the area, we have created a route that will challenge and reward riders.
Starting from The Arch, near Pontarfynach, 15 miles from Aberystwyth and a short drive from the A44 it is easy to access, with several campsites nearby.
There will be two support areas for riders with a support crew, and one manned water station at the lap end with space for riders to leave food/water, and water will be available for refills.
The off-road riding is virtually all on wide sections of forest roads, with some spectacular viewpoints and fun downhill sections.
Open to competitive and non-competitive riders, it will also be the inaugural Welsh Cycling Gravel Championship, with national jerseys available for junior and all senior age categories.
